From My Table

Hi, my name is Kyle Jackson, and this blog is for those who want to know about my journey to plant a church in the mid-Galveston county area. Some of you may know me, some may not. Whether you're here to read about church planting or to see what is going on with my family, I want to say thank you. You could be doing a million different things on the internet, but you chose to spend several minutes hearing about what God has been doing in my life.

Before I get into the details, I would like to speak to anyone who would not consider themselves "religious". Some of the things that you are going to read may not make sense to you. I will speak of trusting in God's plan and calling in my life. That might not make sense to you because your life doesn't at all feel put together. Well, neither is mine. I will speak of the church as a family and for some that will make you uncomfortable because your family is not something that you are not proud of. Well, my family has a lot of flaws in it too- some of which I will talk about here and some that I will keep private. If you have any questions about the things that I write about, I would love to have a cup of coffee and chat.

Every morning I get a cup of coffee and open up my Bible and sit at my table. I spend time reading, journaling, and praying. It is in these moments that I align my heart to God's and set the trajectory of my day. At my table, I do a lot of things. There are times when I have my computer out working and then there are times when we have Settlers of Catan set up. We gather around it to eat as well as to tell stories about our day. Sometimes it has clothes on it that need to be folded and other times it is full of Amazon boxes. It is not anything fancy, we actually bought it at Garden Ridge (RIP) when we first got married, but we love it.

It is from my table that I am sharing my heart with you.

This is a picture of what happens so often in our family. My daughter, Rowan, brings joy to everyone she comes in contact with. My wife and I had the honor of adopting her in March of 2018 and it was one of the best days of my life. My wife has done a great job of blogging about our adoption journey and you can check her blog out here: sarcasminthesanctuary.blogspot.com
